A bagged Miele can lose performance when an airway is blocked, the FilterBag is full, a protection or exhaust filter is clogged, or fibres bind the turbobrush. Unplug before separating the floorhead, hose, handle and telescopic wand. Replace rather than reuse a full bag, and use Miele's model finder because GN, FJM and CO identify different fit families. The bag must click fully into its holder and only one exhaust filter should be installed. A hot casing, damaged cable or burning smell is a reason to stop, not to continue dismantling.

Safety first
- Do not force the dust-compartment lid; Miele's empty-operation lock can prevent closure when no bag is seated.
What the symptom may indicate
Checks in the right order
- Unplug and separate
Switch off with the footswitch, unplug, then separate floorhead, hose, handle and telescopic wand to inspect each airway.
- Remove accessible blockages
Carefully move coarse debris toward the floorhead with a long blunt object or shake it from the handle without damaging the hose.
- Replace the correct bag and filters
Replace a full bag and due filters using the exact model finder. Click the bag fully into its holder, never reuse it and never install more than one exhaust filter.
- Free the turbobrush
Place the unplugged turbobrush upside down on a clean, level surface and cut threads or hair along the roller guide track without cutting the brush.
Stop and get qualified help when
- Stop if the casing is unusually hot, the cable is damaged or a burning smell appears.
- If clear airways and the exact new bag and filters do not restore performance, contact Miele Service.
