A Magnifica infuser that will not come out is often parked outside its removal position after an interrupted shutdown. Restore the normal shutdown sequence before touching the red release tabs.
Do not treat resistance as proof that the infuser is broken. The drive parks the brew unit only during the machine’s own shutdown, with the drip tray and grounds container fitted. Once the display and internal movement have stopped, disconnect power, open the service door and check whether both red tabs can be pressed together without twisting the unit.
Follow the checks in order and change only one condition at a time. Run a short rinse or test after each action, so the result identifies the cause instead of hiding it. The procedures below stay within the cleaning, refitting and user-menu operations described by the manufacturer.
Safety first
- Switch the machine off, unplug it and let hot-water, steam and metal parts cool before removing or cleaning a component. Never open the casing.
What the symptom may indicate
Checks in the right order
- Restore the parking cycle
Refit the drip tray and grounds container, close the door, power the machine on, then switch it off with its front control and wait until every internal movement stops.
- Disconnect and open the service door
Unplug the cooled machine, remove the water tank if the manual requires access through that side, and open the infuser service door without using tools.
- Press both red tabs
Press both red release tabs inward at the same time and pull the infuser straight out. If it does not release with moderate hand pressure, stop rather than forcing it.
- Rinse and refit
Rinse the removable unit with water as directed by De'Longhi, allow it to drain, then slide it onto its support until both release buttons return outward.
Stop and get qualified help when
- Stop if the infuser needs levering or twisting, if a red tab is broken, or if the drive cannot complete a normal shutdown. Those symptoms require De'Longhi service rather than more pulling.
Next step
Repair, replace a part, or arrange a diagnosis?
Use the checks and stop conditions above to choose the least costly safe next step. A symptom alone never proves that the appliance has failed.
Resolve it without buying anything
Complete the 4 safe checks in order. If normal operation returns and no warning sign remains, no replacement is indicated.
Replace only the confirmed part
If the checks isolate a worn or blocked component, match its complete reference to the exact appliance model before ordering.
This guide does not identify a replacement part. Do not order a generic component from the symptom alone.
Arrange a diagnosis before replacing the appliance
Stop at any warning sign listed above. A qualified diagnosis should confirm that repair is unsafe, unavailable or uneconomical before an appliance replacement is considered.
