LG uses uE, UE or Ub to report load imbalance, not a drainage code. The machine may first add water and try to redistribute items; after repeated attempts, the uppercase code asks for user action. A single heavy item, an overfilled or nearly empty drum, unsuitable waterproof or bulky articles, the wrong cycle or an unlevel washer can all cause the same message. Do not order suspension or motor parts from the code alone. First redistribute the load and run the official empty rinse-and-spin test; recurrence with an empty drum is the point at which LG recommends repair.

Safety first

  • Do not hold, push or move a washer during spin. Stop the programme and wait for the drum and door lock before touching the load or feet.

What the symptom may indicate

The load cannot distribute evenlyOne bulky item, too few items or a packed drum can keep weight on one side and prevent full-speed spin.
The washer is not stableA rocking cabinet or uneven floor lets vibration grow until the machine cancels or reduces spin.

Checks in the right order

  1. Pause and redistribute the laundry

Wait for the door to unlock, separate tangled items and spread them evenly. Remove unsuitable items and avoid washing one absorbent article by itself.

  2. Correct the load and programme

Aim for a freely moving load rather than an empty-looking or packed drum. Select the cycle intended for bedding or bulky items and reduce spin speed for a small load.

  3. Check stability and level

With the washer off, press each top corner and check for rocking. Adjust only the levelling feet described in the installation instructions, then tighten their lock nuts.

  4. Run the empty test

Empty the drum completely and run Rinse and Spin. If UE or Ub appears again with no load, stop troubleshooting and request LG repair rather than opening the suspension system.

Stop and get qualified help when

  • Stop for violent movement, impact noises, a damaged foot, loose cabinet, water leak or UE/Ub during the empty Rinse and Spin test; LG states that service is then required.

Next step

Repair, replace a part, or arrange a diagnosis?

Use the checks and stop conditions above to choose the least costly safe next step. A symptom alone never proves that the appliance has failed.

Resolve it without buying anything

Complete the 4 safe checks in order. If normal operation returns and no warning sign remains, no replacement is indicated.

Replace only the confirmed part

If the checks isolate a worn or blocked component, match its complete reference to the exact appliance model before ordering.

This guide does not identify a replacement part. Do not order a generic component from the symptom alone.

Arrange a diagnosis before replacing the appliance

Stop at any warning sign listed above. A qualified diagnosis should confirm that repair is unsafe, unavailable or uneconomical before an appliance replacement is considered.
