The official Shark Matrix 2-in-1 2400WD-series guide says the robot searches for its dock when cleaning ends or battery power runs low. If it does not return, the charge may already be exhausted; during wet cleaning, carpet can also block the approach to the landing mat and dock. A red blinking low-charge light means there is not enough energy to navigate back, so manually place the robot on the dock with the charging contacts aligned. This model-family diagnosis is distinct from Wi-Fi connection issues and from a robot that reaches the dock but does not charge. Confirm dock power, clear the final approach, keep the wet-cleaning route off carpet and allow a complete charge before one DOCK-button test.
Safety first
- Turn the robot off before cleaning contacts, keep dock and connectors dry, use a dry cloth only and keep fingers out of the gap between the bumper and robot body when lifting.
What the symptom may indicate
Checks in the right order
- Confirm dock power and access
Check that the dock is plugged in on a stable level surface. Remove objects from the direct approach and make sure the landing mat has not shifted or curled.
- Remove carpet from the wet route
If wet cleaning is active, create a hard-floor path to the dock. Do not expect the robot to cross carpet while carrying the fluid reservoir and wet pad.
- Place a depleted robot on the dock
For a red blinking low-charge light, lift carefully without placing fingers between bumper and body, then align the robot’s underside contacts with the dock contacts until charging is indicated.
- Charge fully and test once
Allow the full charge time stated in the manual. Place the robot a short unobstructed distance away on hard flooring, press DOCK once and observe without moving either unit.
Stop and get qualified help when
- Stop and contact Shark if the dock, cord or battery becomes hot, wet, swollen or damaged, charging is not indicated with aligned contacts, the robot collides repeatedly or it still cannot dock after a full charge and clear hard-floor test.
Next step
Repair, replace a part, or arrange a diagnosis?
Use the checks and stop conditions above to choose the least costly safe next step. A symptom alone never proves that the appliance has failed.
Resolve it without buying anything
Complete the 4 safe checks in order. If normal operation returns and no warning sign remains, no replacement is indicated.
Replace only the confirmed part
If the checks isolate a worn or blocked component, match its complete reference to the exact appliance model before ordering.
This guide does not identify a replacement part. Do not order a generic component from the symptom alone.
Arrange a diagnosis before replacing the appliance
Stop at any warning sign listed above. A qualified diagnosis should confirm that repair is unsafe, unavailable or uneconomical before an appliance replacement is considered.
